My Story
Alexis Reed is a Dayton native whose background in movement and dietetics influences her counseling style with a wholistic lens. Reed’s undergrad at Ohio University, where she obtained a B.S.S. in Dance Somatics & Human Health, led her to her previous supervisory position with Kettering Health’s Main Campus in the Nutrition Department as she began her masters program with Northwestern University. During her masters, Reed transitioned to work with Nova Behavioral Health as a behavioral health technician, working under licensed social workers in their dual diagnosis inpatient units. During and after her masters, Reed worked at Empower Psychology & Wellness when she was a counselor trainee (for internship and practicum,) once she obtained her LPC, and at the start of her LPCC. Reed continues to incorporate movement into others lives by teaching dance, yoga, barre, and Pilates at local studios, and in her own life with Crossfit, weightlifting, running, and rock climbing.
